RMA was founded by Ryan McCaffrey in 2019. Prior to founding the studio, Ryan worked under Pritzker Prize-winning architect Wang Shu at Amateur Architecture Studio in Hangzhou, China from 2013 to 2019.
Alongside practice, Ryan teaches and lectures on regionalism in architecture. His primary area of interest is buildings integrated relationship to their natural environment. He is currently a faculty member at RISD Architecture (profile).
Ryan is registered architect and member of the AIA. He studied architecture at China Academy of Art (M.Arch II), Rhode Island School of Design (B.Arch), and McGill University.
